Privacy & Security

Your privacy matters to us.

We want you to understand what happens to information when you use QRGen.africa. This policy explains it in clear language.

Last updated: 26 September 2026

Our approach to your privacy

QRGen.africa is designed to let you create QR codes without requiring you to create an account. We only need the information required to provide the feature you choose to use, and we believe you should know when information is being processed and why.

No account required

You can use the QR code generator without registering a QRGen.africa user account.

Clear data handling

We explain what information is needed to generate your QR code and what technical information may be processed by the site.

Privacy support

You can contact us directly at support@qrgen.africa with privacy-related questions or requests.

1

Information you provide

QRGen.africa processes information that you choose to enter when using the generator. The information depends on the QR code type you select.

For example, you may provide a website address that you want encoded into a QR code. As additional QR types become available, you may choose to provide information appropriate to those features.

You may also provide your name, email address, enquiry type and message when contacting us through our contact form.

2

How QR code generation works

The information you enter into the QR generator is used to create the QR code you request.

During the generation and download process, QRGen.africa may create generated image files on our server so that your completed QR code can be displayed and downloaded.

A QR code can contain information that anyone who scans it may be able to read or access. Do not encode passwords, banking information or other confidential information unless you fully understand how that QR code will be distributed and used.
3

Technical and security information

When you access QRGen.africa, our web server and hosting infrastructure can process standard technical information required to deliver and protect the website.

This can include:

  • IP address;
  • browser and device information;
  • requested pages and files;
  • date and time of requests; and
  • server and security logs.

This information can help us operate the website, investigate errors, maintain security and protect QRGen.africa against abuse.

4

Contact form information

When you contact us, we use the information you provide to read, manage and respond to your enquiry.

Contact messages are sent to support@qrgen.africa. We do not ask you to provide passwords, payment-card details or other highly sensitive information through the ordinary contact form.

5

Cookies

QRGen.africa may use browser cookies or similar technologies where they are required for website functionality, security or user preferences.

If we introduce advertising, analytics or other non-essential technologies that require additional disclosure or consent, we will update this policy and implement appropriate controls where required.

6

Advertising and analytics

QRGen.africa may use measurement and advertising services as the platform develops, including services used to understand website performance and the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

Before technologies that involve additional collection or sharing of user information are activated, this Privacy Policy should be updated to identify the relevant services and explain how they operate.

Where consent is legally required for particular cookies or technologies, QRGen.africa will provide an appropriate consent mechanism.

7

Third-party services

Some parts of QRGen.africa may rely on third-party infrastructure, libraries, hosting resources or external services necessary to deliver website functionality.

Third-party websites that you choose to visit through links or QR code destinations operate independently and have their own privacy practices.

8

How long information is kept

Different information may need to be kept for different periods depending on its purpose.

Generated QR files may exist on our server as part of the generation and download process. Server and security logs may also be retained by our hosting infrastructure for operational and security purposes.

Contact correspondence may be retained while it is needed to respond to an enquiry, maintain an appropriate record of communication or meet legitimate operational or legal requirements.

9

Protecting your information

We take the security of QRGen.africa seriously and use appropriate website, hosting and access-control measures to protect the service and information processed through it.

Internet services cannot guarantee absolute security. For that reason, you should never submit information to a QR code generator that you would not be comfortable having encoded into the resulting QR code.

10

Your privacy choices

If you have a question about information you submitted directly to QRGen.africa, you can contact us and provide enough information for us to understand and respond to your request.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, privacy rights may include requesting access to, correction of or deletion of certain personal information.

Privacy requests can be sent to support@qrgen.africa .

11

Children

QRGen.africa is a general-purpose QR code creation service and is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children.

If you believe personal information has been submitted to us inappropriately, please contact us so the matter can be reviewed.

12

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when QRGen.africa introduces new functionality, changes the way information is processed, or when legal or operational requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this page together with its updated date.
